Proper Use and Safety Guidelines
According to the WSTDA, when using web tie-downs with a winch or ratchet, a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 wraps of webbing should be wound on the winch or ratchet mandrel. Excessive wraps may reduce the working load limit and interfere with proper operation. The design factor, which is the ratio of the breaking strength to the working load limit, should be 3:1 for these tie-down straps, providing a level of redundancy to ensure safety.
